Sam and his guests celebrated his Bar Mitzvah by celebrating his love of lacrosse. When guests arrived they were greeted by a cut-out of Sam in his lacrosse gear and lacrosse jerseys signed by the players of the Colorado teams. The people who cheered Sam on in his life found stands filled with place cards of people cheering, holding signs with their table name which was named after a lacrosse team. Knowing the value of regulation equipment, Sam decided to donate all the equipment used for the night so that underprivileged kids would have a chance to play lacrosse. Lacrosse invaded the space: from a video ribbon showing sports highlights surrounding guests to lacrosse sticks on the back of every chair to green grass-like linens topped by lacrosse gloves holding table names to photo ops with two players and two cheerleaders from Colorado’s lacrosse teams. The “Sweet Victory” shack served candy and dessert on beds of grass, but it was Sam’s thoughtfulness that left a sweet taste in everyone’s mouth.
