Denver Library BookLovers Ball - Exposed
Bibliophiles flocked to the library for the Book Lover’s Ball, a celebration exposing the public to the many facets of the library in a memorable way. While eating in the library is usually strictly forbidden, this evening guest were served food from hollowed out books on a book cart and enjoyed their dinner in different areas of the library. Through the use of color, space and creativity, four parts of the library were highlighted : film and entertainment, programs and classes, business and technology as well as art and music. For example, guests exposed to film and entertainment were seated among blacks and silvers with pops of red, tall vases filled with film and film reels. Guests exposed to programs and classes learned of the many options at the library through centerpieces of glass vases filled with tools, knitting needles with yarn or teddy bears with books. After dinner, the guest returned to the atrium and exposed their dance skills, celebrating all the library has to offer.
